The fascinating mountain landscape of the Zugspitz Arena before you will provide more motivation than any trainer. Mountain bikers ride at the limits every day. Road cyclists know each and every hidden side street. Hobby and family cyclists sit firmly in the saddle. Even so-called ‘Sunday riders’ are underway during the week.
From 1,000 metres upwards, pedal pushers are riding at the highest level. More than one hundred signposted bike trails are open to two-wheel enthusiasts at the foot of the Zugspitze. Easy hobby routes in the valley. ‘Water trails’ around the Heiterwang See, the Plansee and the Fernsteinsee. Demanding mountain bike trails at altitudes above the treeline. To make it easy, mountain lifts on the Grubigstein or Hochalm take the strain of the strenuous climbs – once on top trails are more or less level.
From mid-May through to mid-October, regularly held Bike Days in three various classifications are events for specialists. Bike rentals and maintenance, a bike sport centre with the chance to draw up your own training plan and bike transport by rail or mountain lift round off the facilities on offer. The Zugspitz Arena is of course also attune to the culinary needs of pedal pushers.
