Nordic Walking - The gentle way to top fitness

Nordic walking is on the best way to becoming not just a trend but a new health-based sport. ‘The gentle way to top fitness’ is the motto of this technique. The use of poles is significantly more effective than normal walking when dealing with pulse rate and burning up calories. On top of this, Nordic walking is gentle on your joints and quick to learn. It is also suitable for young and older, slim or fully slim, for those of moderate skills and those who are more proficient.

With 300 km of trails, the region in and around Tyrol’s Zugspitz Arena is naturally ideal for Nordic walking. According to an altitude study conducting by the University of Innsbruck, movement is most effective in terms of burning fat and training muscles at middle altitudes (700 – 2,500 metres).

Below the breath-taking massif of the Wetterstein range it is quite easy to get into your own stride. Nordic walking sessions are offered on a weekly basis – for instance to the Eibsee (Mondays) or to the three lakes (Tuesdays). And the accommodation always keeps pace with good offers.
