Wiener Neustädter Hut / Ehrwald

Behind the old valley station, this scenic path starts along the ski route (signpost: Wiener Neustädter Hütte, Zugspitze). Follow the signs until you reach the beginning of the scree. Then cross the scree field until you reach Wiesengrat after a steep climb a. Past the second pillar of the Tyrol Zugspitz lift you reach the Austrian Schneekar (snow cirque) on a safe hill climb. All around you, you can see a wonderfully unique view. On the right is the Wiener Neustädter hut.
Zugspitze Panorama-Summit restaurant

This route also begins behind the old valley station along the ski route – signposted is the way to Wiener Neustädter Hütte, Zugspitze. The scree path takes you up to the Wiesengrat. Then after the second pillar of the Tyrol Zugspitz lift you reach the Austrian Schneekar (snow cirque). Here on your right is the Wiener Neustädter hut (walking time, roughly 2 hours). From here take follow the climb to the end of the Schneekar. If you follow the slanted gully, the ‘Stopselzieher’ (secured with brackets and steel cable), you reach the slanted wall. When the rope trail takes you uphill again, you’ll soon see the Kammstation. Take the Grat further on until you reach the summit where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view.
If you’ve got any strength left, you can walk further to the Munich Hut on the west summit. Here you’ll find an imposing weather tower from 1897.
Thörle loop / Ehrwald

From the car park of the Zugspitz lift begins an idyllic circular route towards Ehrwald, which leads you up to the Zugspitz hotel ‘Diana Thörle’. An asphalted forest road takes you through the thick woods up to the upland meadow. From here a forest track takes you up through Bergwald. After walking for around two hours you’ll reach the Hochthörle Hut. It is worth taking some refreshment on board here before taking on the climb up the forest track to the valley station of the Tyrol Zugspitz lift, or walking further on to the Eibseeblick.
Schützensteig – loop

Take the path described above from the valley station of the Zugspitz lift to the Hochthörle Hut. Where the asphalt ends there is a marked and signposted uphill path to the memorial. The climb makes a loop – after a brief visit to the Eibseeblick you return to the Hochthörle Hut. Time for something to eat to help you enjoy the view.
Tuftl Alm

Route:
From the fish farm at Lermoos via ‘Böser Winkel’ to the Tuftlalm (1496m). Climb via the Kärletal and the Panorama path to Ehrwald or Lermoos.
Heiterwanger plateau 1612 m – “Almkopfgipfel” 1802 m

Itinerary:
a) From the guild church St.Josef "until the end of the forest trail - Guide plateau - part of the ski run, and the forest along the “Almkopfbahn” nicely situated to the plateau (1612m) - continue to “Almkopfgipfel” (1802m) - wonderful panorama.
b) The “Almkopfbahn” float in the air and enjoy panoramic views. Berwang descent direction over the house hunters - Bärenbad - through the town Berwang the valley, further to Lähner Alm, and keep right on the way back to Bichlbach.
Sonnenspitze

From Ehrwald to the Seebenalm – roughly 1 hour to the Coburg Hut 1920 metres -further 45 mins. To the entrance to the Biberwier Scharte (nick) – rope up, 7 rope lengths of easy climbing 2nd - 3rd degree - 30 mins. Steep walking terrain to the summit (2412 metres)- decent on the normal path: north side 2 rope lengths of easy climbing - 2 hours steep walking terrain to the Seebensee or the Seebenalm at 1560 metres.
Zugspitze

Route:
Zugspitze valley station via Georg Jägersteig to the Gamskar and the Wiener Neustädter Hut (2216 m) 2.5 to 3 hours walking, rope up – fixed rope route ‘Stopselzieher’ to the Zuspitze ridge and the Zugspitze summit 2.5 to 3 hours – return with the Tyrol Zugspitz lift.
Gatterl

Route:
Take the mountain lift to the summit of the Zugspitze – to the restaurant ‘Sonn Alpin’ (2588m) – via the Knorrhütte (2051m) to Gatterl (2000m) - Feldernjöchl (2045m) - Hochfeldern Alm (1732m) – to the Ehrwald Alm (1502m) – with the cable car or on foot back to Ehrwald.
Seebensee

Route:
Ehrwald Alm valley station – mountain station (1502m) via the Igelsee (1585m) to the Seebenalm and the Seebensee (1730m) – return via Ganghofer`s Rast to the Ehrwald Alm - Ehrwald.
Hönig
The most wonderful flower-filled mountain in the valley! First to the Gröben part of town, keeping right, a climb takes us through the Älplestal, then right (signpost: Hönig). Follow the hollow westwards to the Satteljoch. Now turn right following the run of the ridge via the Höniggrat to the summit of Hönig. From the cable car struts on the ridge roughly 300 metres to the sign ‘Sattelkopf – Kögele’. Following the red markings only, we come to the Sattelkopf, from here right to the mountain station of the Rastkopf lift. After, descent to Berwang or Rinnen.
Note: Only passable in dry conditions and with boots with good soles!
Thaneller

Route:
From Heiterwang via the Thanneller cirque and the Rietzlersteig to the Thaneller summit (2341 metres) one of the most splendid viewpoints – return via the Grießltal - Kampelplatz and Rinnen – drive or walk back to Bichlbach and Heiterwang.
Bergleskopf

Route:
Out of Biberwier to the Waldhaus Talblick – via the Alpgrat (steep terrain) to the Berglesboden (1884m) and the Bergleskopf (2250m) – further to the Nassereith Alm (1730m) and back via the Roman path – to Weissensee – to Biberwier.
Bleispitze

Route:
Climb or lift to Grubigläcke – high altitude panorama path to the Wolfratshauser Hut (1751 metres) – in the Gartnertal to the Sommerbergjöchl. Further to the Bleispitze (2225 metres) – climb over the Wiesengrat ridge into the sea of flowers of the Gartenjochs to Bichlbach-Lermoos.
