Hiking & mountaineering

Alone or in a group, in the valley or near the summit, for an hour or for a whole day: Hiking and mountaineering enthusiasts can look forward to a vast selection of routes in all levels of difficulty on the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitze. If you love to have company and would like to learn more about the region, you might want to go on a guided tour accompanied by local guides. And who knows: Maybe the summit of the world-famous Zugspitze is your destination of choice?

Discovering the beauty of Tyrol on two wheels

Biking

Sitting firmly on the saddle and giving it your all while pushing the pedals … a cool breeze caressing your face … and the majestic Zugspitze right in front of you. That’s what a perfect day looks like for many bikers in the “Approved Bike Area” of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena – on one of the many routes for mountain bikers and cyclists. What’s more, the local single tracks are only waiting to be mastered by action-loving downhillers.

Boredom won’t stand a chance!

Family summer

In the seven towns on the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitze, little and grown-up holiday guests feel equally at home. The family-friendly summer programme certainly contributes to that. From playgrounds to a petting zoo and a sports and leisure park: Parents and their little ones can experience lots of exciting moments while on summer holiday in the mountains. We also recommend you take your little hikers on a tour along the various family-friendly themed trails

Cooling off in the water on warm summer days

Lakes & public pools

On warm summer days, there’s nothing better than jumping into the cool water of a lake or public pool after your hike – and that’s just what you can do at the foot of the Zugspitze. You want to immerse yourself in the crystal-clear water of a mountain lake or relax in the sun at one of the bathing lidos? The Loisach river is yet another refreshing option for a dip in the water on the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitze. Besides going for a swim, you can look forward to some fun on the water at Lake Heiterwanger See – either on a stand-up paddle board or aboard a ship. And in case it isn’t perfect swimming weather, indoor pools are a great alternative.
